Getting to and from the airports in London.
Five airports, five different rule sets. Which payment method works, what the cheapest train actually is, and what to do at 3am when nothing is running.
At a glance
Quick reference. Each airport has its own page below.
Gatwick
- Travelcards aren't valid to Gatwick — the airport sits outside the zonal scheme. Buy advance paper for the cheapest fare; PAYG works as a fallback.
- All trains arrive at the South Terminal — a free shuttle runs 24/7 between the terminals and takes only 2 minutes.

Luton
DART runs 24/7. Luton Airport Express has a 23:25–05:00 gap.
Coaches (NX, Green Line 757) cover the overnight period.
